Why is my car radio locked down?
Following a breakdown or a disconnection of the car battery, the Renault (or Dacia) vehicle radio will ask for a security code to become operational.
However, if you can't find the code for your radio, do not panic. This guide will help you calculate the car radio code.
How to retrieve the pre code of your Renault or Dacia car radio?
First of all, you should find the so-called pre code of your car radio to unlock it using our calculator.
What is a pre code? It allows the identification of the car radio. You can find it on a radio placard, but you can also obtain it by selecting a specific radio keys sequence.
There are 6 buttons numbered from 1 to 6 on the Renault radio.

- Switch on the device
The pre code will be shown on the screen of the radio.
If that doesn't work, try to press 1 and 5 keys.
You can read the pre code number from the metal plate attached to the back or even on one of your car radio sides.
To remove the radio box, you have to press a screwdriver into all the tiny holes placed at the radio facade.
Then, pull the car radio towards you. The pre code consists of a capital letter and three digits.

Car radio codes licenses are available in two types (you can exclude VAT for the company license). Payment is made through PayPal over a secure connection.

How to Enter Renault Radio Code?
There are two methods to enter the PIN code on your radio station.
In this example we are going to use the car radio keypad (touch the buttons of the FM / AM stations).
To do this, you must use radio keys from 1 to 4.
The key 1 is used to enter the first digit of the code, the key 2 for information the second digit, and so on for keys 3 and 4.
As an example, see how to enter generated radio code of 4321 on the radio station buttons:
- Radio key 1 - press it 4 times
- Radio key 2 - press it 3 times
- Radio key 3 - press it 2 times
- Radio key 4 - press it 1 times
Finally, you validate by pressing key 6. Depending on the car radio, it is sometimes necessary to press button 5.
Successful operation is confirmed by emitting a long beep.
