I noticed that you had projects related to CT scanner service passwords. I am facing a similar issue but with a different instrument — a mass spectrometer. My instrument is controlled by a software package that includes configurator software. Unfortunately, the configuration can only be modified by a service engineer, as it requires a password. The service contract has ended and the manufacturer cannot provide any assistance. After performing a clean installation all configuration parameters have reverted to their default settings, which do not match the hardware specifications of my instrument. Simply modifying the parameters in the hardware configuration .xml file is not enough because these parameters are not properly registered or updated in the configuration software. It appears that the password is generated by an algorithm each time a new random ID is produced. When the "key" icon is clicked, a new ID is generated, which presumably requires a new password.
